I'm just enjoying the ups and downs of life, experiencing life as it is, or as Shunryu Suzuki Roshi said “things as it is”. I love that, such a perfect statement of nonduality. I remember it when i start getting caught in the ups or the downs; it brings me back to that place of inner equanimity which is just experience. Just is such a big word!

After several years in the Tibetan tradition i met my root teacher, Paul Haller Roshi, the abbot at San Francisco Zen Center, who gave me the dharma name of Gyokuzan Keido (Jewel Mountain, Joyful Way). For not giving me anything else he has my deep gratitude.

Zazen for me is the great gift of this life, it enables such an intimate engagement with everyone and everything.

Nature is another wonderful gift : trees, rivers, rocks, mountains, birds singing, waves lapping the beach. All these things teach me the dharma and make me smile.

Just to be alive is enough. Really.
